Brief Bio:

 

Arthur Zatarain, PE,  is a multi-discipline engineer and business executive who consults in intellectual property, accidents and damages, and commercial matters. His expertise includes controls & automation, computerized devices, and industrial processes & equipment. He has served over 25 years with a $90+million engineering and fabrication company, currently serving as the only vice president of the publicly traded, multi-national firm.

Arthur holds an M.S. in Engineering as well as several professional engineering and contracting licenses, and was granted a patent for a nuclear medical device. His 30 year career includes senior management experience in design, fabrication, construction, and field service, both domestic and international. He has qualified as an expert witness in US Federal Court, and provides forensic consulting on a variety of  technical and commercial matters.

TEST Automation & Controls, Inc. (TEST Inc.) - 1988 to Present

1988-1989: Manager of Electronic and Electrical Operations

TEST is a $80+ million publicly held design and manufacturing firm dealing with industrial power and  automation, primarily for industrial and oilfield applications worldwide. Current VP Operations position supervises commercial as well as technical processes and products. Joined TEST via acquisition of Dataran in 1988. 

Dataran Corporation - Owner and President - 1980-1987 (acquired by TEST in '88)

A professional engineering consulting firm that designed and managed industrial power and control systems, including those based on computer-based automation. Also developed and manufactured high performance PC "clone" computers specially configured for industrial and CAD applications. The proprietary technology evolved into TEST's SCADAWARE® telemetry product line when acquired by TEST in January of 1988.

Shell Offshore - New Orleans - Electrical Engineer - 1977-1980

Electrical Specialist for major oil producer. Duties included design for power, automation, safety and control systems, and communications. Also conducted training sessions related to controls, instrumentation, and computer programming. 

School of Engineering - University of New Orleans - (full and part time 1977-81)

Served as an instructor of Engineering at UNO in both the Electrical and Mechanical departments while working at Shell and Dataran. Courses included basic electricity, mechanics, fluids, and electronics. 

SECO Industries - Electrical Engineer - 1976-1977

Design and project engineer for power distribution, controls, and safety systems, focusing on industrial and offshore oilfield environments. 

Boeing Services - Equipment Engineer - 1975-1976

Design and specification of maintenance related equipment, both mechanical and electrical for NASA's Michoud Assembly Plant in New Orleans. 

Coulter Electronics - Service Technician - 1973-74

Installed and maintained particle counting and blood analysis equipment for industrial and medical laboratories.
